GPOs

GPOs are used to manage configuration and changes centrally in AD Allows configuration of:

  • Security Settings

  • Registry Based policy settings

  • Group policy preference like startup/shutdow/logon scripts

  • Software Installation

GPOs are abused for attacks like:

  • Privilege Escalation

  • Backdoors

  • Persistence
